Sample Tarot spreads

Tarot - Hermit

Here are some sample Tarot spreads to help you get started.

There are plenty of layouts that can be found quite easily if you want any more at a later date, but these will cover a wide range of occasions for now.

Don't worry about any interpretation or meanings at this stage, we'll cover that later on.

It is even possible to use a single Tarot card for a reading. Focus on all the different meanings for the card, and consider how they could relate to a specific question, or to you in general at that point.

This exercise is very suitable for a solo exercise, a quiet contemplation - rather like meditation.

Normally, however, I don't use less than three cards for a reading.

Three card spread

This is a quick method of directly addressing a single issue, and is great if you are pushed for time with a lot of readings to get through.

Ask the Questor to think of a particular question, then lay out three cards.

The first card relates to the root of their query, the second to the current status, and the third suggests possible future action.
